Types of Cataract Treatment in Delhi and NCR

The removal of natural lens of the eye through surgical procedures for the purpose of treatment of cataract is known as Cataract Surgery. Phacoemulsification and Extra Capsular Cataract Extraction are two types of most common cataract surgical procedures are common across the world for the purpose of effective treatment of cataract, which is clouding of the lens in the eye.

The procedures followed in Phacoemulsification are that the eye surgeon will take small incision in the cornea, which is large enough for the surgical instruments to pass through.  After that the eye surgeons will remove the front layer of the lens. By using advance tools, the eye surgeon will break the cataract into small segments. The surgeon will remove the cataract from the cornea by creating vacuum.

Due to less risk to the patient with weak epithelial tissue in cornea, conventional extra capsular cataract extraction in extremely popular in Delhi and NCR regions. First, the face of the patient is cover and only eye is visual.  Then the eye surgeons apply the local anesthetic and make a small incision. After the incision is made, a circular tear in the lens capsules is made by the eye surgeons. By applying pressure and using advanced tools, the surgeons   remove the cataract from the cornea.

Post the successful removal of the eye lens, through small incision a foldable intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted. A PMMA (poly methyl methacrylate) lens can be implanted through big incision, based on the conditions and demands of the treatments.
